Fibromyalgia and Chiropractic

It is true that fibromyalgia is a real condition but it is also used as a diagnosis when there is no other place to point a finger as the problem. Chiropractic helps
reduce pain no matter if it is fibromyalgia or most any other condition by restoringjoint motion, when a joint can move more it sends information to the brain faster
than pain information is sent to the brain, in a sense it is blocking the pain
signals from getting through, this is referred as spinal gate theory. With
fibromyalgia, your metabolism is often affected which is regulated by the thyroid.
To treat the thyroid ( a body part that produces chemicals to affect metabolism) youcan go to a endocrinologist to supplement your lower levels, try using herbal
supplements, and when you get your spine adjusted, most importantly the neck it
sends increased information to a part of your brain called the Thalamus which in
turn sends increased information to the hypothalamus which then increases activity
to the pituitary gland which produces a chemical that increases thyroid activity. A problem occurs with necks with disc injuries/bulges, there will be limited motion inthe joint because of the disc injury, the best treatment to help motion in that
affected joint complex is traction, you can see how I do this with a specific deviceon my websight; look under the section on disc injuries. Movement will also help
decrease pain by gate theory and affect the thyroid by way of the thalamus. If you
do nothing else at least walk for exercise which will help with the symptoms.
